Consanguine

Inspired by Augmented Reality as a new tool to solve problems, I wanted to explore its potential for expressing myself.

In march 2015, I spent 9 days at my deceased grandmother‘s farmhouse in a very remote part of Bavaria, Germany where I spent most of my childhood. I painted traditional watercolor artworks of the nature around me.
Later I overlayed these paintings with AR to draw a connection between nature and technology, past and future, objective and personal. Exploring different layers of narration.

The exhibition took place 18th – 29th of May 2015 at the Friday Galery in Munich, Germany. The spring before I emigrated from Munich, Bavaria, Germany to San Francisco, California, USA.

I wanted to explore nature, family, origins and how they are connected with each other.

Visitors were excited to see the hidden layers on their phones and had a multi-sensoric experience of a place that is special to me.
